Chelsea are +25000 to get relegated. Surely worth a tenner if he takes over.

kylay - does it really matter at this point who comes in until the summer, they are dead in the league anyway.

Re: Potter gone

I think what that article doesn't suggest though is that even though it may well have been the team around him, Potter obviously used them to the best of their ability and knowledge etc and it worked. Moyes on the other hand doesn't seem to want to listen to his coaches, ignores anything that anyone says to him in favour of doing his own thing and has won the grand total of fuck all, all whilst thinking he is the cream of the crop and doesn't look at his own downfalls and addresses them. Potter is still relatively new in terms of manager experience and I think the Chelsea job was a step too far too soon. He should have continued getting the experience and the knowledge etc and continued building at Brighton. Chelsea came 2-3 years too early I think.

Please let Lampard return to Chelsea. Boehly could be the gift that keeps on giving to those plastic cunts.

But they will get Poch now. That’s certainly who my Chelsea mates want. They will do well under him.
Conte won’t go back. Nagelsmann is a bit of a nutter like Tuchel.

Something doesn’t sit right for me with Potter. A while back I read a massive article about how it wasn’t him that brought the success to Brighton but more the set up that had been built to support him and basically a whole range of managers could have done what he did.

LT - It's been reported that he won't be getting paid up on the full 5 years, no other details reported.

I'm likely to agree with you there, Miike.
Pre Chelsea, he was looking a VERY good manager, but there's been too many weird decisions from him with the tools he had available.

Re: Potter gone

How does it work with his payoff?
Does he get £50m and is able to find another job when he wants to?
Or does he have to keep himself unemployed for the next 5 years to get the £50m?

I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. he's another manager obsessed with three (five) at the back. at the weekend he was using cucurella & james as CBs with chalobah & badiashile on the bench, the bloke is fucking clueless and completely out of his depth but yes, let's bring him in and give him a long contract 👍

Chelsea is a fucking lunatic asylum.
I have been so wrong all along this one.
When I heard they were interested in Potter I said it was bullshit. Wrong. Then I said he won't go there as he's too intelligent and doing too well with Brighton. Wrong. Then I said there is no way in the world they would go with Potter and then sack him so soon. It was a new direction and a long term appointment. Wrong.
You just cannot get your head around this. It's a just a complete fuck up at every level. Whoever is making these decisions at Chelsea needs their head testing.

He MIGHT be the sort of manager that could do something here. Next to Chelsea the expectation wouldn't be very high. I would not say no but I suspect Potter might

No way will Potter work with Trotter….our next great manager shouldn’t want to join us whilst he owns it…..

Re: Potter gone

Potter started off with good results at Chelsea went unbeaten in 9 before losing 4 key starters like mount, James, kante and chillwell to injury
That was going to hurt any manager, even pep or klopp if you took 4 starters from them
Then you have Boehly - according to tuchel’s comments via sources of journos, sounds like he’s a real meddling pain in the arse that’s why tuchel fell out with him.
That’s before you take into account trying to integrate that many new signings for mega money all at once
He shouldn’t have left brighton but can’t blame him if you’re getting offered £50m for a 5 year deal
Potter is a good coach and will get snapped up by someone quickly I think (unless he wants a break to de stress)
His work at brighton along side their owner has helped de zerbi to build on it, some have questioned whether it’s just the brighton system that made potter look good but just not true.
Chris hughton played horrendous football there and battled relegation all the time, shows it’s not just the brighton set up that made him look good

Did Potter take his coaching team with him frim Brighton? Take away a managers trusted number 2 and sometimes they crumble (Moyes)

Yep, don't disagree with too much of that, he's definitely a good bloke. My main worry is him being too nice, but as you say, much rather that than the arrogance of current incumbent.

No, no guarantees of course, but I'd still take him based on his footballing philosophies. Also, he's a stand up bloke, no bollocks and BS like we have seen with slimy cunts like BFS and now Moyes, and while results override all else I still like to have a good credible bloke as our manager, who is the face of the club worldwide.
Also, despite failing at Chelsea he still would have learnt new stuff that can be a positive and a learning curve for him moving forward with his next club.

Re: Potter gone

Manuel, I would definitely have taken him when he joined Chelsea, and I said at the time that would've been a better move for him as he'd shown nothing to suggest he was ready for a top 4 job.
However, if you think about it, all he did with Brighton was establish them as mid table for 1 & a half seasons, and he's proved he hasn't got the minerals for a demanding job, so I'm not sure he'd be my first choice.
Still, it literally is anyone except Moyes now, ain't it.

It really is a big step up, he was meant to be facing Real Madrid next week. I reckon the Yank is a real tough nut to work for too.
I'd definitely take Potter here though.
